This page has been dedicated to the ancestors that had made us who we are today. The Early Settlers in the 1600's set the foundation on the new land that would, one day, be called the United States of America. The following four centuries, people would emigrate from their homes fleeing wars and famine. The Von Belo's, in my family, fled Germany and changed their name to Belo in fear of being discovered. The Cardinale's left Sicily in the 1890's to start a new life on the West Coast. By accident, the spelling of their was changed to Cardinalli. The Marentis Fled Mexico and lived on a boat somewhere off the coast of California, afraid of going ashore, afraid of being deported. These are only a few, small examples, but the list goes on forever. Each persons reason to leave their home was as unique as the person themselves. Each goal was the same, freedom. Freedom from war. Freedom from famine. Freedom of Religion. Freedom of Speech. Freedom to be who they choose to be. With that freedom, they became Americans.
